Google Adsense Click Fraud - Beware

An increasing number of site owners recently have found their Google Adsense account disabled on the grounds of click fraud although they have done nothing wrong. The adsense market is huge, and many naive publishers are jumping in without a thought to the Terms of Service. Google faces the dilemma of maintain the brand reputation while working productively with publishers.

How do you prevent being penalised for click fraud?

- Check your web host access logs regularly. Offer to show them to Google as well, so that they can detect suspicious activity on your site.

- consider using click monitoring software: it is free, and can alert you quickly to any suspicious activity.

Be vigilant about where you place your URL - if it is being displayed on autmated click pages this will cause you problems as well.
