Blogger - Classic or Layout?

The new Blogger 'layout' with widgets seems to be in use by a number of bloggers and I have been leaving plaintive notes on other people's blogs asking how they made the transition without having a nervous breakdown. I am now in a dilemma, as a number of 'paid to blog' sites ask bloggers to use the new Blogger widgets as part of the display process. I am seriously considering setting up a wordpress blog as an alternative so I will be touring some wordpress blogs to check them out.
