Commenting on Blogs - the Etiquette

It is accepted that comments at other people's blogs can produce a surge of relevant visits to your own sites, but new bloggers are wary of being accused of 'spamming'. I find that on my dog's blog other bloggers - canine or otherwise - visit and leave friendly comments. On business oriented blogs poeple are a little more guarded in their views. If you work on Blogger, your comment will automatically include a link to your profile, however I find it easier of people include a direct link to their blog or site so that I can see it in one click. That's my view anyway.
